I gotta get Rachel some paints...

So check out the story of the four year old art progidy. Let's look at money facts from the article:
In all, Marla has sold 24 paintings totaling nearly $40,000, with the prices going up. Her latest paintings are selling for $6,000. Some customers are on a waiting list.
That's amazing. But what's even more amazing is that this kid's art is good. Look at them:

And I am impressed with her parents if what the article says is true.
They do not push her to paint or tell her how to do it and they do not spend a penny of her growing bank account. If she decides she wants to stop, she will stop.
But the truly amazing question is what is inside of this little girl that allows her to create art like this? My daughter is almost four years old and her artwork (while absolutely wonderful in her father's eyes) does not begin to compare this child's work. And there has to be something about creating the art that touches this child in a way that child are not usually touched. She can spend days working on a painting. When have you ever seen a four year spend days doing anything? They don't have the attention span. So what is it about creating art that fills this child up inside?

I am suddenly very interested in investigating other child prodigies. Off to Google.
